Before you start

Do I have to type in all my recipes before I can use it?
No. Start with the recipes for your next event — ten or fifteen — and you can have your first shopping list the same afternoon. The rest go in as you cook them. Type a recipe in, or paste it and let our AI read the amounts and units for you. It reads your recipe to structure it; it never learns from it.
My recipes are my work. Who else gets to see them?
Nobody. They're private to your account — no shared library, nothing published, no other user can reach them. We never sell them, share them, or use them to train AI models, ours or anyone else's.
I'm not very good with this kind of thing.
Nothing to install, nothing to set up. It opens in the browser on the phone in your pocket, and the first thing you do is type in a recipe — which you've done on paper a thousand times. And if you have any question, we're one message away: Contact us
My recipes aren't really written down — they're in my head.
Then write the next one down as you cook it. Quantities for the number of people you normally make it for, nothing more; the scaling is our job from there. A couple of services and you'll have the ten you cook most.
I only work half the year. Am I paying for months I don't cook?
You can pay yearly or monthly. Stop when the season ends, start again when it begins, and your recipes are exactly where you left them. If you'd rather pay less and keep it open all year, there's the yearly price.
What happens after the 14 days?
Nothing, unless you decide to carry on. We don't ask for a card to start, so there's nothing to charge and nothing to cancel.

Getting started

Who is Grammi Chef for?
Chefs who cook for groups and plan ahead: event and retreat caterers, private chefs, and head chefs who plan multi-day menus.
What does Grammi Chef do?
It keeps your recipes, plans the meals of your events, scales each recipe to the number of guests and builds the grocery list, sorted by supplier.
How do I get started?
Sign in with your Google account and your free trial starts. Add a few recipes, create an event and place the recipes in its meals.
Can I bring my existing recipes?
Yes. Paste the ingredient list of a recipe from any document or website; amounts, units and ingredients are recognised line by line. Importing from a web link or a photo is on our roadmap.

Features

How does recipe scaling work?
Each recipe knows how many portions it makes. Set the number of guests, or place it in an event, and every ingredient is multiplied accordingly.
Does Grammi Chef convert between metric and imperial?
Yes. Any recipe can be shown in metric or imperial, and pieces or cups can be turned into weights when the ingredient's size or density is known.
How is the grocery list built?
Grammi Chef adds up every ingredient of every scaled recipe in an event, or in several events together, and groups the totals by supplier.
Does Grammi Chef manage stock or food costs?
No, on purpose. It focuses on planning, scaling and shopping. It does not track stock levels, inventory counts or prices.
Can my team use Grammi Chef?
Today an account belongs to one chef. A Team plan to share recipes and events with your brigade is coming; write to us if you want early access.

Languages & devices

Which languages does Grammi Chef speak?
English, French, Italian and Spanish. Search works across all four: type “lemon” with the app in French and you find “citron”.
Does it work on a phone or a tablet?
Yes. Grammi Chef runs in the web browser of any phone, tablet or computer. There is nothing to install.
Does it work offline?
Not yet. Grammi Chef needs an internet connection today; offline use is on our roadmap.

Pricing

How much does Grammi Chef cost?
$15 per month, or $12 per month billed yearly, after a 14-day free trial.
Do I need a card for the free trial?
No. Sign in and use everything for 14 days; you only choose a plan if you want to keep going.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. Cancel whenever you like; your plan runs until the end of the period you paid for.

Your recipes stay yours

Who owns the recipes I put in Grammi Chef?
You do. Your recipes, menus and notes remain your intellectual property. Using Grammi Chef gives us no rights over them beyond storing and showing them to you.
Do you sell or share my recipes?
Never. We don't sell, rent, share or publish your recipes or any of your data, and we don't show you ads.
Are my recipes used to train AI?
No. Your recipes are never used to train AI models, ours or anyone else's.
Can anyone else see my recipes?
No. Your data is private to your account; other users cannot see it. Our team only looks at it if you ask us to, for example to help with a problem.
Can I get my data back or delete it?
Yes, and you do both yourself, from “Your data” in the app. Export everything in your kitchen as a readable page you can print, or as a full JSON file. Deleting your account removes it and everything in it for good — there is no undo, so take a copy first if you want one.
Where is my data stored?
In the European Union (Ireland). Your recipes, events, ingredients and suppliers are kept there. A few of our providers may process data elsewhere; where they do, those transfers are covered by the safeguards set out in our privacy policy.
How is my data protected?
You sign in with Google, so we never store a password. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and every request is checked against your account.
